Funeral Arrangements for Bishop Guy Sansaricq

Most Reverend Guy A. Sansaricq, Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn since 2006 and the first Haitian American bishop in the United States, died on August 21, 2021. He was 86 years old.

Bishop Sansaricq was known for his faithful, selfless service and as a “lifeline to the Haitian community.” Please pray for the repose of his soul and the consolation of his friends, loved ones, and congregants. For those wishing to pay their respects, the arrangements, published with his obituary in The Tablet, are as follows:

Wake
* Tuesday, August 31st, 3–9 p.m. at St. Jerome Church (2900 Newkirk Ave., Brooklyn, 718-462-0223)
* Wednesday, September 1st, 3–7 pm at St. Gregory the Great Church (224 Brooklyn Ave., Brooklyn, 718-773-0100), followed by vigil Mass at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass
* Thursday, September 2nd, 11 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph (856 Pacific St., Brooklyn, 718-638-1071)
