Holy Thursday

At the Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper, a group of twelve men and women—RCIA elect, candidates, sponsors and a previous RCIA participant—had their feet washed by Msgr. Michael Dempsey.

They are (left to right in the first two photos above) Linda Carrizales, candidate; George Itarradle, sponsor; Laurie Wallace, candidate, full communion; Matthew Migacz, sponsor; Karl Edwards, neophyte; William Lee, neophyte; Jennifer Lee, sponsor; Charles McKeen, neophyte; David Crowley, candidate; Christopher Morris, neophyte; Kealdra Cobb, neophyte; and Steven Liu, a previous neophyte who was in last year’s RCIA group.

After Mass, the Blessed Sacrament was brought in procession to the Repository which had been placed on the center of the church (see third photo, above), and a great number of parishioners remained in prayer and meditation, many of them until midnight, at which time Msgr. Funaro led those present in profound prayer.

Good Friday

Holy Saturday - Easter Vigil

The Paschal candle is immersed as the Easter water is blessed.

The elect are called to profess their faith and prepare for Baptism

Kealdra Cobb is presented for Baptism by her sponsor, Tomsz Kowacz.

Karl Edwards is baptized by Msgr. Funaro as his sponsor, Elizabeth Ochoa, looks on.

Matthew Migacz presents Christopher Morris with a lighted candle at Baptism.

Charles McKeen is baptized and receives the light of Christ from his sponsor, Catherine Kelly. He is wearing the white garment, a symbol of new life in Christ.

The neophytes and candidates who have just received the Sacraments stnnd to the applause of the congregation.

Laurie Wallace is presented by her sponsor, George Itarradle, for full reception into the Catholic Church from the Lutheran Church.

Linda Carrizales is presented to Msgr. Funaro for Confirmation by her sponsor, Mary Ellen O’Brien.

David Crowley is presented by his sponsor Concetta Gallo for Confirmation.
