Religious Education for Public School Children

  • Wednesday afternoon from 3:15 – 4:30 PM for Levels 1, 2, 3, & 4

  • Wednesday evening from 7:00 – 8:15 PM for Levels 5, 6, & 7

Children begin attending classes in 1st Grade, receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist in 2nd grade and the sacrament of Confirmation in 7th grade.  There is a  two-year preparation to receive a sacrament.  We ask that parents attend special meetings regarding the sacraments.

It is the belief of those involved with the Religious Education Program that the parents of our students are the primary teachers of religion.  Parents set the good example of attending Mass every week, encouraging prayer at home, and forming their child’s conscience.

The volunteer catechists and staff are happy to assist parents in these responsibilities and present our faith to the students in a well-prepared and interesting manner.

Through the dedication of parents, volunteer-catechists and staff, we hope to provide each child with a love of their faith and a longing to act and be like Jesus.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

RCIA is a journey of Faith through the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.  RCIA provides ways to:

  • Learn more about the Catholic Religion

  • Become a Baptized Catholic

  • Complete the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist

  •  Participate fully in the life of the Catholic Church

  • Reaffirm your faith

Group Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM.
